The Asset and Configuration Technician will manage the lifecycle of IT assets and maintain accurate configuration records. The IT Asset & Configuration Technician ensures that all hardware, software, and configuration items are effectively tracked, controlled, and compliant with organisational standards and governance frameworks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As an Asset and Configuration Technician, you are responsible for ensuring:

The accurate maintenance of an inventory of all IT asses, including hardware, software, licences
Effective tracking of assets through their full lifecycle, from procurement through to deployment and disposal
Asset records are complete, current and audit-ready at all times
Regular asset audits and reconciliations are conducted to maintain data integrity
Software licence renewals and new acquisitions are managed efficiently
Software requests are assessed and approved in alignment with Essential Eight guidelines
Software installations are carried out in accordance with guidelines
Software usage is regularly reviewed to ensure licence compliance and to identify opportunities for licence optimisation
Support is provided for both internal and external audit activities
Continuous improvement opportunities are identified and implemented
Documentations is maintained, and training is provided to new IS/IT employees

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
To be successful in your role, you will have demonstrated and/or acquired the following knowledge and experience:

A solid understanding of the ITIL framework, including Incident, Request, Change, Problem and Asset Management
Hands-on experience with tools such as SCCM, Active Directory and ServiceNow
Strong knowledge of software licencing models and compliance requirements
Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
A strong customer focus, with a service-oriented approach to delivering outcomes
Excellent planning and task coordination capabilities
Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively
Practical experience in software installation and deployment

GOOD TO KNOW
Prior to being offered employment, you will need to complete pre-employment police and (role dependent) medical checks. Applicants must be Australian citizens and be eligible to obtain NV1 security clearance.
