For more than 50 years, Surman Metals has been a trusted Australian supplier of specialty metal products to commercial customers nationwide. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Internal Sales Representative to join our team in a permanent full-time role.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a customer-focused and driven sales professional who enjoys building relationships and delivering excellent service.

The successful applicant will be confident working independently, possess strong problem-solving skills, and bring a positive, energetic attitude to the workplace.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Managing over-the-counter, phone, and email sales enquiries.
Working towards sales targets and KPIs.
Promoting Surman Metals’ products, services, and capabilities.
Providing outstanding customer service and maintaining strong client relationships.
Processing orders and performing accurate data entry.
Assisting with stock management and inventory control.
Supporting general office administration tasks as required.
Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe workplace.
Assisting with the efficient day-to-day operation of the business.

Skills & Experience

To be considered for this role, applicants must:

Hold full Australian working rights and currently reside in Australia.
Have previous experience in the metals industry or a similar industrial sector.
Have experience in sales and customer service.
Demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Be highly motivated, customer-focused, and target-driven.
Be capable of working autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
Possess sound computer literacy and administrative skills.
Have strong numerical, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
Maintain a positive, can-do attitude.
Hold a current Australian driver’s licence.

Additional Requirements

Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical assessment.
Availability to work standard 8-hour shifts.
