The Opportunity

We are recruiting an experienced Legal Assistant to join our Corporate team in Sydney, supporting a senior Partner and their wider team in a busy, high‑volume practice.

This role is suited to a highly capable assistant who operates as a trusted right‑hand support to senior lawyers. You will manage complex diaries, workflow and competing priorities to enable the practice to operate smoothly in a fast‑paced, time‑sensitive environment.

Note: We’re not currently considering university students for this role.

What you’ll do

Working closely with a senior Partner and their team, you will provide high‑level administrative and practice support, including:

Proactive diary, inbox and workflow management, anticipating priorities and managing change
Acting as a key coordination point across administrative matters
Managing correspondence, document production and matter administration to a high standard
Coordinating client meetings, calls and travel arrangements with precision
Liaising confidently with clients, internal stakeholders and external parties
Managing billing processes, including pre-bills, edits, finalisation and cost reporting
Supporting the smooth running of the practice by monitoring deadlines and commitments
Championing efficient ways of working, including the use of technology and AI tools
Collaborating closely with Legal Assistants and Administrative Assistants across the Corporate group

What you’ll bring:

Demonstrated experience as a Legal Assistant or senior legal support professional within a legal or professional services environment
Strong experience supporting senior stakeholders, with a calm, organised and proactive approach Excellent judgment, discretion and confidence managing sensitive matters Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines
Experience with billing, reporting and matter management systems
A commitment to mentoring and guiding junior team members
A service‑oriented mindset with a genuine commitment to enabling fee earners to focus on client delivery
An innovative mindset, curious about AI and emerging technologies
