McMahon Services is seeking a highly experienced Building Project Manager to join our Northern Territory Building & Civil team.
This is a senior project leadership opportunity for someone with a strong background across building and civil construction, ideally gained within a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor environment.
You’ll take ownership of project delivery from contract award through to completion, leading teams, managing commercial outcomes and building strong client relationships across a diverse portfolio of projects.

About the Role
As Building Project Manager, you’ll lead projects from planning and mobilisation through to delivery, commercial close-out and handover.
Working closely with site, engineering, commercial and operational teams, you’ll be responsible for programme, financial performance, procurement, contracts, risk, quality and stakeholder relationships.
This role is well suited to a highly experienced Project Manager who enjoys being close to delivery, solving complex project challenges and providing clear leadership across both building and civil scopes.
You’ll also play an important role in mentoring Project Engineers, Contract Administrators, Site Managers and other project team members, helping develop capability across the NT business.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and manage building and civil construction projects from planning through to completion.
- Develop, manage and monitor detailed construction programmes.
- Take ownership of project budgets, forecasting, cost tracking and margin performance.
- Manage head contracts, subcontracts, procurement, variations and claims.
- Identify commercial and project risks and implement practical strategies.
- Lead subcontractors, suppliers, site teams and project personnel.
- Build strong relationships with clients, consultants and key stakeholders.
- Maintain high safety, quality and compliance standards.
- Mentor, coach and develop project teams.
- Provide clear project reporting and communication to senior management.
- Support regional project delivery as required.
What You’ll Bring
- Highly experienced construction Project Manager with a strong track record delivering complex projects.
- Solid experience across both civil and building construction.
- Demonstrated experience working with Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractors.
- Strong and consistent employment history with proven project delivery capability.
- Strong commercial acumen and experience managing project financial performance.
- Excellent contract administration, procurement and risk management capability.
- Strong leadership skills with proven experience mentoring and developing project teams.
- Ability to manage multiple subcontractors, suppliers and site interfaces.
- High level of competency in project management systems such as Procore, Aconex and MS Project.
- Trade qualification in Carpentry or tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Current White Card.
- Current DCAC or the ability to obtain one.
- Flexibility to travel to regional projects when required.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing.
