What You’ll Be Doing
As a Data Engineer (Marketing), you’ll build and support data-driven workflows that connect customer data, systems, and platforms. Reporting to the Head of Marketing & Customer Systems, you'll work across data, automation, integrations, marketing technology, and operational support to deliver practical and scalable solutions.
This mid-level role suits someone with experience in data, automation, integrations, marketing technology, analytics, or technical delivery. You should be comfortable working across tools, using no-code/low-code platforms, and applying basic SQL or JavaScript. Experience with web analytics, tag management, CDPs, marketing automation, CRM platforms, personalisation, experimentation, and digital measurement is highly desirable.

Gather requirements and translate business needs into practical data workflow and integration solutions.
- Build, configure, test, and maintain automated workflows across customer, marketing, and business systems.
- Manage data extraction, transformation, validation, enrichment, and movement between platforms.
- Monitor workflow performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure reliable operational outcomes.
- Support marketing, customer, digital, and analytics platforms, including audience, event, and activation workflows.
- Troubleshoot data, integration, tracking, and system issues across connected platforms.
- Use SQL, JavaScript, APIs, and platform configuration tools to support delivery and problem-solving.
- Perform data quality checks, reconciliation, and validation activities.
- Maintain workflow, configuration, and support documentation.
- Deliver solutions from requirements through to testing, deployment, and operational support.
- Identify opportunities to automate processes, improve system connectivity, and reduce manual effort.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across Marketing, Customer, Product, Data, Engineering, and Technology teams.
- Ensure solutions align with governance, privacy, security, and operational standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, reusable processes, and emerging automation and AI initiatives.

What Sets You Apart
- 2+ years' experience in data, automation, integration, technical delivery, or systems roles, or 4+ years in marketing technology, marketing operations, analytics, customer systems, data operations, or digital platforms.
- Experience building and supporting data workflows using no-code, low-code, integration, and automation tools.
- Understanding of APIs, events, schemas, data mappings, triggers, webhooks, workflow logic, and related technical concepts.
- Ability to read and troubleshoot basic SQL, JavaScript, and configuration logic.
- Experience with data extraction, transformation, validation, monitoring, and issue resolution.
- Exposure to web analytics, tag management, CDPs, marketing automation, CRM platforms, personalisation, experimentation, or digital measurement is highly desirable.
- Understanding of data privacy, governance, consent, data quality, and operational best practices.
- Proven ability to gather requirements, solve problems, deliver practical solutions, and support ongoing operations.
- Proactive and hands-on, with the ability to take work from concept through to delivery and support.
- Able to work independently while knowing when to seek guidance on complexity or risk.
- Strong attention to detail across testing, validation, documentation, and monitoring.
- Effective communicator who can work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Practical problem solver with a collaborative approach across systems, teams, and data sources.
- Curious about automation, AI, and emerging technologies that improve operational outcomes.
