Full Job Description

Are you a skilled Youth Worker or Case Manager who can think on their feet when dealing with crisis and apply common sense solutions? Do you want to make a difference supporting young people to get their lives back on track?

We’re looking for a Youth Development Coach to work in our youth participation program, Youthlink. The Youth Development Coach provides intensive case management, and coaching supports to at-risk young people aged 12 to 21 years linking them with support services tailored to their individual needs.

YFS is a leader in Youth Services in the Logan, Redlands and surrounding areas. Our integrated approach is designed to deliver better outcomes for the young people we work with. In this role, you will collaborate with other teams across our range of services including alcohol and other drugs, transition from care, youth justice, housing and legal services. This also means there are great opportunities to develop your career.

About the job

Role location: Slacks Creek

Role type: Temporary Full-time, fixed term 12-month parental leave cover

Pay range: $92,582- $99,613 a year based on experience, with salary packaging exempt from Fringe Benefits Tax available along a monthly accrued day off

In this role you will:

deliver effective services to at-risk young people
support young people to experience positive relationships with their family and community
link young people into education, training and/or employment
assist clients to access safe and stable places to live and lead healthy and violence free lives
provide mental health interventions and assist clients to link with additional support services tailored to their needs
work with parents and families, significant support people and stakeholders to build participation and independence.

About you

Aside from meeting the key capabilities outlined in the related role description available from the link below, you’ll be a great fit for this role if you:

have experience in person-centred, case-management service delivery
are client-focused, with a good understanding of the factors that contribute to young people disconnecting from family and community or disengaging from education, training or employment
have good communication skills and are able to engage with a range of people including clients, their families, support people and other stakeholders
have good organisational skills to plan and prioritise work and manage competing demands and priorities
are culturally aware.
