The Role

We are seeking a motivated Dewatering Leading Hand to join our team. In this role, you will oversee daily dewatering operations across sites, lead a field crew, and ensure safe, compliant, and efficient water management.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

Operational Leadership

Lead and coordinate daily dewatering activities across multiple site locations.
Allocate and oversee tasks for the dewatering crew to ensure safe, timely, and efficient work.
Liaise with site management and clients to resolve issues and enhance water management strategies.

Technical Oversight

Supervise the installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of dewatering pumps and systems.
Perform hands-on troubleshooting, repairs, and routine servicing of equipment.
Maintain accurate records including daily logs, maintenance schedules, and service reports

Safety, Compliance & Team Support

Ensure all work complies with company safety policies, environmental standards, and client requirements.
Participate in risk assessments, toolbox talks, and incident investigations as required.
Provide on-site mentoring, training, and support to team members to promote safe work practices and continuous improvement.

Required Skills Qualifications & Experience

Education/Certificates

White Card (Construction Induction)
Current manual driver’s licence
High Risk Work Licences (e.g., Dogging, Rigging, Forklift) – desirable
Confined Space and Working at Heights – desirable
First Aid and CPR – desirable

Experience & Knowledge

3–5 years’ experience in dewatering, pump operation, or mobile field service roles
Previous experience in a leading hand or supervisory capacity
Strong knowledge of centrifugal and submersible pumps, pipework, and mechanical troubleshooting
Familiarity with site water management practices, environmental controls, and HSEQ compliance
Background in mining, civil construction, or water infrastructure environments
Skilled in interpreting technical manuals and documentation, with strong communication and problem-solving ability
