The Role
We are seeking a motivated Dewatering Leading Hand to join our team. In this role, you will oversee daily dewatering operations across sites, lead a field crew, and ensure safe, compliant, and efficient water management.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Operational Leadership
- Lead and coordinate daily dewatering activities across multiple site locations.
- Allocate and oversee tasks for the dewatering crew to ensure safe, timely, and efficient work.
- Liaise with site management and clients to resolve issues and enhance water management strategies.
Technical Oversight
- Supervise the installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of dewatering pumps and systems.
- Perform hands-on troubleshooting, repairs, and routine servicing of equipment.
- Maintain accurate records including daily logs, maintenance schedules, and service reports
Safety, Compliance & Team Support
- Ensure all work complies with company safety policies, environmental standards, and client requirements.
- Participate in risk assessments, toolbox talks, and incident investigations as required.
- Provide on-site mentoring, training, and support to team members to promote safe work practices and continuous improvement.
Required Skills Qualifications & Experience
Education/Certificates
- White Card (Construction Induction)
- Current manual driver’s licence
- High Risk Work Licences (e.g., Dogging, Rigging, Forklift) – desirable
- Confined Space and Working at Heights – desirable
- First Aid and CPR – desirable
Experience & Knowledge
- 3–5 years’ experience in dewatering, pump operation, or mobile field service roles
- Previous experience in a leading hand or supervisory capacity
- Strong knowledge of centrifugal and submersible pumps, pipework, and mechanical troubleshooting
- Familiarity with site water management practices, environmental controls, and HSEQ compliance
- Background in mining, civil construction, or water infrastructure environments
- Skilled in interpreting technical manuals and documentation, with strong communication and problem-solving ability
