What you'll be up to:
The Head of Operations CoS oversees daily operations at the Rosebery Depot, managing the maintenance and performance of more than 2,500 street furniture assets across the City of Sydney under contractual requirements, service levels, KPIs, and KRAs. The role leads operational, safety, environmental, and quality management systems while maintaining strong relationships with City of Sydney stakeholders to resolve issues collaboratively and ensure positive outcomes. It is also responsible for leading and developing field, operational, and administrative teams, fostering a safe, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture. Success in the role depends on strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and the ability to consistently deliver contractual and performance objectives. In addition you will also:
Deliver CoS contract performance targets and oversee depot operations.
Ensure all activities comply with the City of Sydney Street Furniture contract and specifications.
Manage integration of QMS and City of Sydney operational systems.
Act as the key operational liaison with the City of Sydney and attend required meetings.
Ensure assets meet quality, compliance, and KPI standards.
Oversee asset management systems and maintenance record accuracy.
Manage fleet, warehouse, inventory, procurement, and supplier performance.
Maintain accurate stock levels and effective supply chain processes.
Ensure fleet vehicles are serviced, well maintained, and efficiently utilised.
Drive a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and feedback.
Identify and implement process and system improvements.
Maintain compliance with WHS, environmental, quality, and ISO standards.
Ensure inspections, incident management, and audit requirements are met.
Oversee accurate and timely contract reporting, quotations, and invoicing.
Manage depot facilities to ensure they are secure, compliant, and well maintained.
Produce and analyse operational performance reports.
Set team KPIs, conduct performance reviews, and support employee development.
Lead, engage, and empower teams to achieve business objectives.
Ensure teams have the resources, capability, and capacity to succeed.
What we’re looking for:
Proven experience in operations, contract management, or asset maintenance environments.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Project Management, WHS, or similar (preferred).
Experience in Out-of-Home (OOH) advertising and project/contract management.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and engage diverse teams.
Excellent stakeholder management, relationship-building, negotiation, and influencing abilities.
Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills and business acumen.
Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines under pressure.
Collaborative approach with a focus on teamwork and achieving shared goals.
Accountable, proactive, and receptive to feedback and diverse perspectives.
Quick-thinking, solutions-focused, and adaptable in dynamic environments.
