Full Job Description

About the Role:
We’re looking for a reliable and skilled Cook to join our team and support the smooth day-to-day operations of our café kitchen. This is a hands-on role where you’ll prepare food to a high standard, assist with menu items, maintain food safety, and work closely with the front-of-house team to ensure great customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Cooking & Food Preparation:

Prepare, cook, and assemble menu items according to café standards.
Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control.
Follow recipes and assist in developing new items when required.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen during service.

Kitchen Operations:

Set up and pack down the kitchen, including prepping ingredients for the day.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
Monitor stock levels and communicate when supplies need ordering or restocking.
Ensure all food is stored, handled, and prepared according to food safety guidelines.

Cleaning & Hygiene:

Wash dishes, sanitise work areas, and keep kitchen equipment clean.
Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and safe food handling.
Assist with daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks.

Team Support:

Work closely with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service.
Communicate clearly and calmly during busy periods.
Support the overall operations of the café as needed.

Skills & Attributes:

Previous cooking or café kitchen experience preferred.
Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Good time management and attention to detail.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining food safety standards.

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $23.00 – $28.00 per hour
