Join one of Western Australia's leading defendant insurance law practices and start your legal career in a team genuinely committed to developing the next generation of insurance lawyers. Working closely with a Partner and an experienced team of practitioners, you'll gain hands on exposure to workers' compensation matters while receiving the mentoring, training and support needed to build a successful long term legal career.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a graduate looking to develop a strong foundation in defendant insurance law and gain exposure to complex, high quality workers’ compensation matters from the very beginning of their career. You will be involved in a diverse range of work including claim investigations, liability assessments, legal research, drafting correspondence and court documents, preparing matters for conferences and hearings and assisting lawyers with client management and litigation strategy.

The Supervising Partner is passionate about mentoring junior lawyers and creating an environment where graduates are supported to learn, ask questions and progressively take on greater responsibility. You will receive hands on training, direct access to senior lawyers and Partners, and structured development designed to accelerate your growth into a successful insurance lawyer.

This role offers the opportunity to:

Develop expertise in workers’ compensation and workplace injury matters.
Work directly with experienced Partner and senior practitioners.
Receive structured mentoring and practical on the job training.
Attend client meetings, mediations, conferences and hearings.
Build strong advocacy, litigation and client relationship skills.
Gain exposure to a nationally recognised insurance practice.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be a motivated and commercially minded Law Graduate who is eager to build a long term career in insurance and personal injury litigation.

You will bring:

Recently completed or be close to completing a Bachelor of Laws / Juris Doctor (or equivalent).
Strong academic results and excellent written communication skills.
A genuine interest in litigation, insurance law and workers’ compensation matters.
A proactive and enthusiastic approach to learning.
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
The ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Confidence communicating with clients and stakeholders.

Most importantly, you will be someone who is curious, eager to learn and excited about developing your legal career under the guidance of experienced practitioners who are committed to helping the next generation of lawyers succeed.
