About the role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Project Manager to lead the delivery of a large-scale, multi-site psychosocial health and safety initiative as part of WorkSafe Victoria’s Mental Health Industry Trials.

This pivotal role is responsible for the end-to-end management of the project, overseeing the design, implementation, governance, and evaluation of system-level interventions that strengthen psychological health and safety across healthcare settings. Working closely with consortium partners and key stakeholders, you will drive collaboration, ensure project objectives and milestones are achieved, and support the successful delivery of sustainable psychosocial risk management practices.

As Project Manager, you will provide leadership across all phases of the project, ensuring effective governance, risk management, stakeholder engagement, reporting, and evaluation processes. You will play a critical role in embedding long-term organisational capability and systems that support mentally healthy and safe workplaces.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to sector-wide change, influence best practice in psychosocial health and safety, and make a meaningful impact on the wellbeing of healthcare workers across Victoria.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the end-to-end delivery of a large-scale, multi-site psychosocial health and safety project, ensuring all milestones, deliverables, and funding requirements are achieved on time and within scope
Establish and maintain effective project governance, including risk management, stakeholder reporting, performance monitoring, and compliance with legislative and best practice requirements
Build and coordinate strong partnerships across a multidisciplinary consortium, engaging healthcare leaders, staff, industry bodies, unions, subject matter experts, and evaluation partners
Drive co-design and workforce engagement activities to develop and implement practical, sustainable interventions that improve psychological health and safety across diverse healthcare settings
Lead the integration of psychosocial risk management into organisational systems, supported by robust evaluation, capability-building initiatives, and continuous improvement practices that deliver lasting impact

What we’re looking for

Proven experience leading large-scale, complex projects across multiple stakeholders and sites, with strong project management, governance, and delivery expertise
Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with executive leaders, frontline staff, and external partners
Experience in health, safety, organisational change, or workforce wellbeing initiatives, with knowledge of psychosocial risk management, healthcare settings, or evaluation frameworks highly regarded
