Fried Brothers – Store Manager

Position: Store ManagerEmployment Type: Full-TimeReports To: Operations Manager / OwnershipLocation: Fried Brothers

About the Role

Fried Brothers is looking for a motivated, hands-on Store Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day operation of one of our stores.

The Store Manager is responsible for ensuring the store runs efficiently, maintains Fried Brothers’ standards for food quality, customer service, cleanliness and speed, and that the team is properly trained, organised and accountable.

This is a hands-on management position. The Store Manager is expected to lead from the floor, support the team during busy periods and ensure standards are maintained throughout every shift.

Key Responsibilities

Store Operations

Manage the overall day-to-day operation of the store.
Ensure opening, shift change and closing procedures are completed correctly.
Ensure the store is properly staffed and prepared for service.
Maintain smooth and efficient operations during peak periods.
Ensure equipment, kitchen areas, front-of-house and storage areas are maintained correctly.
Identify operational issues and escalate maintenance or equipment problems promptly.
Ensure company procedures and Fried Brothers standards are consistently followed.

Team Leadership & Training

Lead, motivate and manage the store team.
Set clear expectations and hold staff accountable for their responsibilities.
Train new employees according to Fried Brothers procedures and standards.
Continually coach and develop existing team members.
Monitor staff performance and address poor performance or behaviour appropriately.
Build a positive, professional and productive workplace culture.
Lead by example with punctuality, presentation, work ethic and attitude.

Food Quality & Safety

Ensure all food is prepared and served according to Fried Brothers recipes, portioning and presentation standards.
Monitor food quality throughout service.
Ensure correct cooking, hot-holding, cold-holding and food-handling procedures are followed.
Prevent cross-contamination and ensure allergen procedures are followed.
Ensure cleaning and sanitising procedures are completed correctly.
Monitor product freshness, stock rotation, use-by dates and FIFO procedures.
Ensure the store complies with applicable food-safety requirements.

Customer Service

Ensure customers receive friendly, professional and efficient service.
Maintain high standards for order accuracy and speed of service.
Handle customer complaints professionally and work to resolve issues quickly.
Monitor customer feedback and identify recurring problems.
Create an environment where customers consistently receive the Fried Brothers standard of service.

Stock, Waste & Cost Control

Monitor stock levels and ensure the store has sufficient product for service.
Complete stock counts accurately when required.
Place or communicate stock orders according to company procedures.
Monitor food waste, incorrect portions, overproduction and unnecessary product loss.
Investigate unusual stock variances.
Ensure deliveries are checked, stored and rotated correctly.
Work to achieve food-cost and waste targets without compromising quality.

Rostering & Labour

Assist with or manage staff rosters according to business requirements.
Ensure adequate staffing during busy periods while controlling unnecessary labour costs.
Manage breaks and staff positioning throughout shifts.
Monitor attendance, punctuality and shift coverage.
Arrange replacements where required and communicate staffing issues promptly.

Cleanliness & Store Presentation

Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the restaurant.
Ensure kitchen equipment, fryers, griddle, preparation areas, coolrooms, freezers, storage areas and front-of-house areas are cleaned according to procedure.
Ensure cleaning schedules and checklists are completed.
Maintain a clean, organised and professional store appearance at all times.

Cash & POS Management

Ensure correct POS and cash-handling procedures are followed.
Monitor register discrepancies and investigate issues where necessary.
Ensure refunds, discounts, voids and other adjustments are handled according to company policy.
Complete required end-of-day procedures accurately.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

Previous management or supervisory experience in fast food, quick-service restaurants, hospitality or a similar environment.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
The ability to manage and motivate a team.
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
The ability to remain calm and make decisions during busy service periods.
A strong understanding of customer service.
Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene.
Experience with stock control, rostering and labour management.
A hands-on attitude and willingness to work alongside the team.
Reliability, punctuality and strong personal accountability.
Availability to work a flexible roster including evenings, weekends and public holidays where required.

A successful Fried Brothers Store Manager runs a store where:

Customers are happy. Food is consistently high quality. Orders are accurate. The store is clean. Staff know their roles. Problems are dealt with quickly. Waste and labour are controlled. And the store operates to the same high standard regardless of who is working.

The Store Manager is ultimately responsible for taking ownership of their store and ensuring the Fried Brothers standard is maintained every day.
