What you'll be doing
As the Nurse Unit Manager, you will provide strategic and operational leadership to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality and efficient patient care. You will play a pivotal role in coordinating patient flow, managing resources, leading nursing practice and supporting a positive and high-performing team culture.

Lead, direct and coordinate the delivery of patient-centred care within the Respiratory and Cystic Fibrosis Unit
Manage ward operations, workforce resources and budget allocation to achieve service objectives
Ensure safe, effective and evidence-based nursing practice while maintaining quality and patient safety standards
Lead and support nursing staff through coaching, professional development, education and performance management
Drive collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes, patient flow and service efficiency

Essential Requirements

Registration: Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) (NSW Registered Nurse – Division

Selection Criteria

Relevant tertiary qualifications in management and/or specialty, or working towards attainment in same, or extensive management experience in the field that demonstrates ability to perform the role.
Recent relevant clinical and management experience deemed appropriate by WSLHD
Demonstrated recent experience and understanding of financial management and accountabilities in relation to stock and effective budget utilisation.
Demonstrated application of evidence based practice and critical thinking to patient care
Demonstrated ability to lead change that results in sustained improvements in patient care, throughput and resource utilisation.
Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated conflict resolution experience.
