POSITION TITLE: Registered Nurse – Experienced Child and Family Health Nurse

STATUS: Permanent Part Time 16 hours per week with scope to increase hours next year.

PURPOSE
This role provides secondary Child and Family Health support to children aged 0-5 years and their families, with a focus on sleep and settling, feeding, adjustment to parenting, infant and child behaviour, and parental mental health and wellbeing. Based at the Randwick Parenting Centre in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs, the position delivers care through both in-centre services and virtual care, ensuring families have access to flexible, family-centred support.

Professional practice must reflect adherence to agreed professional standards. The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of clinical services to families in centre or virtually via a telehealth platform.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA: (Each criteria below must be addressed in your cover letter)
1. NSW Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
2. Recognised post graduate qualifications in Child and Family Health or equivalent experience (Minimum 2 years).
3. Ability to demonstrate individual and group facilitation skills while working in partnership with families.
4. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
5. Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to build positive therapeutic relationships with clients, families, and colleagues, and to communicate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
6. Understanding of the principles of secondary health care in the context of Child and Family Health Nursing
7. Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation: Respect, Innovation, Collaboration and Excellence.
8. Demonstrated computer skills including the use of online health databases such as EMR, IPM and Microsoft 365
9. Current drivers licence recognised in NSW.

Child and Family Health RN: All Child and Family Health nurses (RN) have an obligation to be familiar with and practice in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board registration codes, guidelines and statements for Registered Nurses. Secondly, Child and Family Health nurses are required to operate within the scope of practice, standards and professional development elements as outlined within the NSW CAFHNA Child and Family Health Competencies 2009 and comply with their registration CPD requirements using the Child and Family Health Professional Practice Framework 2022 to guide their professional development. All registered nurses are to provide evidence of National Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) is current.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Various employment status is in accordance with the Named NSW (Non - Declared) Affiliated Health Organisations’ Nurses Agreement 2017. Shift times and days may be varied according to the needs of the organisation. Karitane services are provided at a number of sites within the Sydney Metropolitan Area and across NSW.
The majority of Karitane services close for approximately two weeks over the Christmas/New Year period, during which time employees are required to take leave.
