About the Role
We are seeking a Practice Capability Coordinator to play a key role in strengthening practice quality and capability across SSI.
This role sits within SSI’s Practice Quality and Assurance function, which is responsible for defining what good practice looks like, supporting teams to deliver it consistently, and continuously improving practice across the organisation.
As Practice Capability Coordinator, you will lead the development of practical companion guides that translate SSI’s Practice Framework into clear, usable guidance for staff. You will also design and support tiered learning pathways that help staff build confidence and capability in applying practice standards across diverse service contexts.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys writing, learning design, facilitation and working collaboratively with subject matter experts, clinical leaders and practice specialists to create practical resources that make a real difference.
The Practice Capability Coordinator position is a full-time max-term contract until end June 2027.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the authorship of SSI’s companion guide suite, ensuring practice standards are translated into clear and practical guidance.
- Design tiered learning pathways for each guide, including e-modules, workshops, induction content and integration with existing learning programs.
- Facilitate practice learning and deliver train-the-trainer programs to build capability across SSI’s practice specialist network.
- Convene and support a community of practice that enables shared learning, consistency and continuous improvement.
- Maintain awareness of current evidence, practice developments and emerging approaches across relevant human services areas.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders including clinical leadership, program teams, Learning and Development, subject matter experts and frontline staff.
- Contribute to the annual review of SSI’s Practice Framework, ensuring learning and practice insights inform future updates.
About You
You are a strong communicator, writer and facilitator who can turn complex practice concepts into clear, engaging and practical guidance. You understand human services practice and are confident working with diverse stakeholders to co-design resources and learning that support consistent, high-quality service delivery.
You will bring:
- A bachelor-level qualification in social work, psychology or an allied health discipline.
- Strong writing and content authoring skills, with the ability to produce clear practice guidance for varied audiences.
- Experience designing and delivering learning, capability-building or blended learning programs.
- Strong facilitation skills, including the ability to support train-the-trainer approaches.
- Sound understanding of adult learning principles and learning platforms such as Go1.
- Strong consultation and stakeholder engagement skills.
- An ability to build relationships, work collaboratively and coordinate input from multiple stakeholders.
- An interest in evidence-informed practice and continuous improvement.
A qualification in adult education, learning and development or instructional design would be highly regarded.
If you are passionate about strengthening practice, building capability and creating practical learning that supports high-quality service delivery, we would love to hear from you!
