Chef de Partie – Eating House Rowville

Location: Rowville, VIC
Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time Available
Salary: Competitive hourly rate or salary package based on experience

Eating House Rowville is a busy, family-owned restaurant that has been serving the local community since 2004. Known for our premium steaks, pizzas, pasta, seafood, breakfast service, functions, and events, we're passionate about delivering quality food and exceptional hospitality.

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Chef de Partie to join our professional kitchen team.

About the Role

This is a hands-on position for a chef who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in producing high-quality food consistently. You will work closely with our Head Chef and Sous Chef while managing your section and supporting junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and run a designated section during service
Prepare, cook, and present dishes to a consistently high standard
Ensure food quality, portion control, and presentation standards are maintained
Assist with stock rotation, ordering, and inventory control
Maintain food safety, hygiene, and HACCP procedures
Support and mentor apprentices, commis chefs, and kitchen hands
Work collaboratively with the wider kitchen team during busy service periods
Contribute ideas for specials and menu development

What We're Looking For

Minimum 2 years' experience as a Chef de Partie or experienced Commis Chef ready to step up
Strong understanding of modern Australian cuisine
Experience working across grill, larder, pans, or pizza sections highly regarded
Ability to work efficiently under pressure
Strong organisational and communication skills
Excellent knowledge of food safety standards
Reliable, professional, and passionate about hospitality
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays
