About the role:

The Medical Advisory Unit provides expert occupational health services and advice to support the operational and recruitment activities of Victoria Police. The core business of MAU is:

Conducting pre-employment medical assessments for police recruits, PSOs and PCOs.
Direction to Attend the Police Medical Officer to assess members' fitness for duty.
Drug and Alcohol Workplace testing of Victoria Police members.
Specialist Group Medicals as per statutory requirements.
Medical Advice Line – 24/7 service that advises and supports members potentially exposed to blood borne viruses and other infectious diseases.

Position Duties:

Maintain reception in a professional manner and provide an informed, high level courteous customer service to all clients.
Provide high quality administrative and management support to the Division including efficient preparation and management of manual and computerised records.
Assist with the organisation of appointments, meetings, referrals and reports to support the provision of clinical services.
Complete correspondence, keyboard tasks, document movement and file security.
Respond to requests for assistance or information from both internal and external clients in a professional and confidential manner in accordance with policy and legal requirements.
May be required to undertake other duties, such as finance support tasks.

Experience / Seeking Experience / Understanding of:

Ability to provide professional reception and customer service.
Good interpersonal, communication skills and understanding of requirements to work effectively in sensitive situations.
Ability to prioritise and produce accurate work within agreed deadlines operating under minimal supervision.
Ability to establish and maintain accurate and efficient office systems and records.
Keyboard and computing skills.
An understanding of the customer service.

Further Information:

One (1) x Full time - fixed term position available until 30/6/2027.
This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
