ABOUT US

Come and join the team at Meatmaiden, our 101 World's Best Steakhouse where classic grill and smoker dishes are reimagined and twisted.

We're a 12-year established, lively and fun premium dining basement steakhouse and bar in the CBD, renowned for our individualised and personable approach to service.

We offer a great work environment with plenty of flexibility. We bring a one-team mentality, where front of house and kitchen work as one. Good tips, staff meals for doubles, no late nights, and we're closed on Sunday and Monday so everyone gets time to recharge. We'll develop your knowledge with regular training on all things hospitality.

THE ROLES

We are seeking experienced hospitality professionals to join us as Trade Waiters ( Cocktail Bartenders and Section Waiters ). Full-time sponsorship is available for the right candidates who meet the skill requirements, however Australian workers are preferred.

COCKTAIL BARTENDERS ( Trade Waiters )

We are looking for full-time Cocktail Bartenders (contracted 38 hours per week plus reasonable additional hours). We've launched an exciting new cocktail list and are looking for expertise behind the bar and in the venue to drive it forward.

Key Requirements:

Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience in a fast-paced cocktail bar or premium restaurant environment.
Comprehensive knowledge of classic cocktails, modern mixology techniques, and flavour profiles.
Strong knowledge of Australian wine, spirits, and craft beer is highly advantageous.
Self-motivated to manage bar prep (batching, cooking syrups) and maintain bar cleanliness.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with guests sitting at the bar.
Ability to learn detailed food menus and deliver seamless service to bar guests.
Valid Victorian RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certificate.

SECTION WAIT STAFF ( Trade Waiters )

We are looking for senior Section Wait Staff for full-time positions ( contracted 38 hours per week plus reasonable additional hours ).

Key Requirements:

Must have a minimum of 18 months of experience as a section waiter/waitress in a busy, high-volume dining environment.
Strong time management skills with the ability to confidently navigate a busy section under pressure (including managing out-by times).
Steak and wine knowledge is a definite advantage, though thorough menu training will be provided.
A passion for delivering tailored, high-quality customer service and creating a rapport with guests.
Professional personal presentation paired with an authentic, individual style.
A proactive, can-do attitude and a strong team player mentality.
Valid Victorian RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certificate.
