Join South Western Sydney Local Health District's Harm Reduction Program and play a vital role in improving health outcomes for vulnerable communities across the district. As part of a dedicated multidisciplinary Drug Health Services team, you'll help deliver innovative, evidence-based programs that reduce harm, promote wellbeing and strengthen connections to care for people who need it most.

Work alongside a dedicated multidisciplinary Drug Health Services team committed to reducing the transmission of blood-borne viruses, preventing overdose, and supporting community wellbeing across South Western Sydney.
Deliver evidence-based harm reduction interventions, health education and referral pathways that help people access healthcare, treatment and support services when they need them most.
Contribute to innovative health promotion, Hepatitis C prevention, community engagement and quality improvement initiatives that make a real difference across health and community settings.
Support culturally safe and inclusive practice while building strong partnerships with consumers, carers, community organisations and healthcare providers throughout the district.
Participate in a diverse range of harm reduction activities, including community outreach, overdose prevention initiatives, secondary Needle and Syringe Program services and support of syringe dispensing machine operations.

Passionate about reducing harm associated with drug use and improving community health outcomes through evidence-based, person-centred interventions, with knowledge of or a willingness to learn about harm reduction principles, blood-borne virus prevention and drug and alcohol interventions.
Demonstrates excellent communication, active listening and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and engage respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds, including those experiencing vulnerability, crisis or complex health and social issues.
Organised and self-motivated, with strong attention to detail, accurate record management skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Skilled in, or keen to develop expertise in, planning and delivering health promotion activities, community engagement initiatives, brief interventions, health education programs, referral pathways and quality improvement projects.
Values cultural respect, inclusion and equitable access to healthcare, is willing to travel across South Western Sydney to support service delivery, and possesses a relevant health qualification and/or demonstrated experience working with people who use drugs.
A current driver's licence is essential.

Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
