Family Assistant/Nanny

(Approx. 25–30 hours per week)

We’re looking for someone to become a positive, trusted influence in our 8-year-old son’s life.

If you enjoy being active—shooting hoops, riding bikes, going to the park—and also love cooking healthy meals and creating fun, engaging experiences for children, we’d love to meet you.

This is more than a traditional nanny role. We’re seeking an energetic, caring and reliable person who genuinely enjoys spending time with children and wants to make a meaningful difference.

You’ll support a single father with full-time care of his son while also helping keep the home organised during school hours.

We’re a close-knit, active family with strong values and a lot of laughter. We’re looking for someone long-term who will be trusted, appreciated and truly feel part of the family.

About the Role

No two days are the same.

Some days are active—basketball, footy, bike rides, swimming or park time. Other days involve homework support, meal prep, or creating a calm, supportive home environment.

While our son is at school, you’ll help keep the home organised so afternoons and evenings can be focused on quality time together.

Childcare Responsibilities

Your main focus is supporting our son’s growth, confidence and wellbeing.

● School drop-offs and pick-ups

● Homework support and after-school routines

● Active play (basketball, football, outdoor games)

● Bike rides, swimming and park outings

● Creative play and board games

● Encouraging confidence, independence and manners

● Preparing healthy snacks and meals

● Supporting a safe, warm and positive environment

● School holiday activities

● Occasional evening babysitting (by agreement)

Home & Family Support

During school hours, you’ll help keep the household running smoothly.

● Light housekeeping and general tidying

● Laundry, ironing and wardrobe organisation

● Grocery shopping and pantry management

● Meal preparation for the family

● Kitchen upkeep and organisation

● Occasional errands

● Maintaining a welcoming, organised home

● Taking initiative where needed

Note: This is not a cleaning role. Professional cleaners are already in place. The focus is on day-to-day organisation and support.

Cooking

Cooking is an important part of the role.

● Preparing fresh, healthy family meals

● Grocery shopping and meal planning

● Pantry organisation

● Preparing meals in advance when needed

● Supporting healthy eating habits

● Current Australian driver’s licence (clean record)
