Full Job Description

Support sensitive legal claims and help keep important case work on track.
You will support lawyers working on complex public law and litigation matters.
You will help manage claims involving people who experienced harm in state care.
Build valuable legal experience while working in a supportive government law team.
2 x part-time, fixed-term roles earning $81,496 - $98,955 per year, plus super.

What you will do

As paralegal, public law and litigation, you will support the public law and litigation team.

You will help manage state-care personal injury claims and other litigated matters.

You will:

maintain accurate files and track claims, settlements, mediations and court events.
help gather important documents and evidence for claims and legal matters.
review court documents and filings for key legal claims.
provide reliable support for meetings, reports and other team tasks.
help maintain clear legal records and contribute to a respectful workplace.

About you

No qualification is mandatory for this role. Formal legal or justice studies, or part-completed studies, will be highly regarded.

You can work with sensitive information and support legal staff in a complex setting.

You should also have:

strong time management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
careful attention to detail and a consistently high standard of work.
clear communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
sound judgement, discretion and initiative when handling sensitive information.
