What you'll be doing

The key responsibilities of the role will include:

Connect to consumers, carers and staff providing a positive example of recovery and as a source of information on their personal experience of managing their mental health.
Support and mentor the AO3 Peer Workers.
Utilising experience, skills and knowledge in consumer education, support and provide a responsive framework of psycho education that meets the needs of consumers.

What we're looking for

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

Knowledge of recovery principles and strength-based approach in working with consumers who have mental health issues.
Well-developed communication skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Ability to maintain professional boundaries.
Skills in computer literacy.
Ability to advocate for the consumer perspective to identify service improvement.
Ability to plan, deliver and evaluate psycho education and groups to mental health service consumers.
Ability to share lived experience of recovery to assist consumers and staff within the role.

Mandatory Requirements

Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
A personal lived experience of mental illness and recovery and ability to advocate for and support people experiencing mental illness.
