The Strategy and Impact division is responsible for strengthening the Commission's influence and impact, driving the Commission's strategic priorities, coordinating organisational commitments to Parliament, Ministers and government, and shaping the Commission's systemic advocacy agenda.
The Media and Communication team is responsible for proactively managing the Commission's reputation and public profile. The team provides strategic media and communication advice, leads public relations and issues management, and delivers high-quality, communication products that amplify the Commission's advocacy.
In this role you will have the following responsibilities and accountabilities:
Provide high level strategic advice and recommendations to the Executive Leadership Board (ELB), in relation to branding, public relations, media and communication strategies aligned to strategic objectives and value chain operating model.
Manage and coordinate day-to-day media and communication activities including researching, writing and distributing media releases and responses.
Develop and implement media initiatives that position the Commission to be part of, and influential in, public discussions that promote the Commission's initiatives and advocacy positions, while providing and responding to emerging issues.
Develop and nurture relationships with spokespeople, brief them for media interviews using formal media-training techniques and provide ongoing support and expert media advice.
Develop, manage and coordinate public-facing communication materials including speeches, talking points, social media content and newsletters, based on the organisations reports and research papers.
Develop and promote the reputation of the Commission and Commissioner's through effective public relations and media management, including monitoring the rapidly evolving news cycle to identify strategic, proactive and reactive media opportunities and mobilise timely responses.
Stay up to date with the rapidly evolving news cycle in order to identify strategic, proactive and reactive media opportunities, brief the business appropriately and prepare responses.
Work with the other teams to develop, test and update the Commission's messaging and narrative advice, including key materials and resources.

Qualifications: While not mandatory, a relevant qualification and/or previous experience in a similar role would be highly regarded.
