Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and produce high-quality pastries, desserts and baked goods.
Maintain exceptional presentation, consistency and food safety standards.
Develop creative new products and contribute fresh ideas.
Manage stock, minimise waste and maintain a clean, organised workspace.
Work efficiently under pressure while meeting production deadlines.
Collaborate with the bakery team to consistently deliver products that exceed customer expectations.

Head Pastry Chef – Self Raised Bread Shoppe

Self Raised Bread Shoppe is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Pastry Chef to lead our pastry team at our Carlton production kitchen.

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in exceptional craftsmanship, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has the leadership skills to inspire a team while maintaining the highest standards of quality and consistency.

About the Role

As our Head Pastry Chef, you will:

* Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of our pastry kitchen.

* Develop and produce high-quality pastries, cakes and desserts.

* Create seasonal specials and contribute to new product development.

* Train, mentor and support junior pastry chefs and apprentices.

* Manage production schedules to ensure efficient daily output.

* Monitor stock levels, ordering and minimise wastage.

* Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards.

* Work closely with management to continually improve our product offering.

About You

You will have:

* Previous experience as a Head Pastry Chef or Senior Pastry Chef.

* Strong knowledge of artisan pastry, viennoiserie, cakes and desserts.

* Excellent leadership and communication skills.

* A keen eye for detail and a commitment to consistency.

* The ability to work efficiently in a high-volume production environment.

* A positive attitude and passion for mentoring others.
