You Wouldn’t is opening its own studio and bringing production completely in-house. We’re looking for a hands-on Podcast, Video & Creative Producer to work directly alongside Will and Pat and play a major role in the next stage of the show. We want someone who understands podcasts and the whole ecosystem inside and out.
It’s a varied role spanning podcast production, video, social content and creative - one day you might be producing an episode, another you’re filming a vlog, running a live stream or working on the next social idea.
The Role
Podcast Production & Technical
Record, produce and edit podcast and Patreon episodes, manage audio, cameras, lighting and recording equipment, upload episodes and be the go-to person for anything technical in the studio. You’ll need to be confident troubleshooting issues on the spot like equipment issues or fixing audio issues like buzzing, background noise etc. and helping maintain and manage the studio and its equipment. You must be excellent at end to end service, from setting up the podcast equipment, right down to the final mix and master of episodes.
Creative & Podcast Development
We aren’t looking for someone who just presses record. You’ll work closely with Will and Pat to research and pitch topics, stories and ideas, stay across news and internet culture, develop new segments and help keep the show fresh. You’ll also keep track of previous conversations and storylines so when we say “we’ll come back to this next week” and inevitably forget, you don’t.
Social Media & Clips
A huge part of the role is understanding what makes podcast content perform on social - not just knowing how to edit, but being able to recognise the best moments. You’ll identify and edit short-form content for TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts, with a strong understanding of hooks, pacing, captions, retention and how to package a moment to give it the best chance of performing.
Video & Additional Content
You’ll be a confident videographer and editor, helping us film and edit vlogs, behind-the-scenes and tour content, social videos, sketches, brand content and larger You Wouldn’t productions. You’ll need to be comfortable using up a camera and creating content both inside and outside the studio.
Commercial, Growth & Live Content
You’ll help keep track of podcast advertising and social campaign deliverables to make sure nothing gets missed, while also bringing ideas for how we can continue growing the podcast, social channels and Patreon. You’ll also be responsible for producing live streams and other special content when required.
Who We’re Looking For
Ideally, you’ll have experience and studied in podcast production, audio/video engineering or radio production. Formal study is great, but practical experience and a strong portfolio are equally important.
You’ll need to be technically confident with audio, cameras and multi-camera production; a strong video and audio editor; a capable videographer; and someone who genuinely understands social content. You MUST be fully confident in fixing any technical issues on the fly.
You should be creative, organised, across internet culture and social media, comfortable solving problems, and happy working in a fast-moving creative environment. You’ll also need to be comfortable being on mic and part of the show, whether the boys are bouncing something off you or asking you to find something on the spot. You will work closely alongside the boys.
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys podcasts, comedy and online content and wants to be part of the show and help make it better.
