Mamamia is Australia's largest independent women's media group and our core purpose is to make the world a better place for women and girls. We reach seven and a half million women each month across written, video and social platforms and we have the largest women's podcast network in the world with 55 different shows.
About the role
We are looking for a creative, energetic, and strategic Social Editor to join our dedicated trio alongside the Head of Show and Executive Producer for Parenting Out Loud. In this role, you will lead the charge in building the show's fame and driving audience growth across social channels. Your primary mission is to turn every episode into native social content that travels, sparking conversations, and building a deeply engaged community. If you have a passion for storytelling, a knack for creating viral moments, and a commitment to championing diverse parenting experiences, this is the role for you!
Here's some of the stuff you can expect to be doing if you join us:
-
Turn every episode into high-performing social content by cutting clips, writing compelling hooks, and building formats that travel.
-
Identify breakout moments in each episode and strategically design content to go viral.
-
Own and grow the show's presence across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook with platform-native content.
-
Independently film, edit, schedule, and publish engaging video content across all social platforms.
-
Build, nurture, and engage with our community through active conversation, moderation, and surfacing user-generated content.
-
Translate community insights and feedback into actionable ideas for the Head of Show and Executive Producer.
-
Craft inclusive content covering diverse parenting stages so every parent feels seen and represented.
-
Jump on fast-moving parenting news and policy moments to keep our content timely, relevant, and impactful.
Now, a bit about you
-
Minimum 3 years of experience creating and distributing social media content within a media or entertainment environment.
-
Proven track record of creating viral content and understanding the science behind why it worked to replicate success.
-
Demonstrated ability to grow audiences and engagement on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube with clear, measurable results.
-
Skilled in hands-on video filming and editing, with the confidence to produce polished content independently without a crew.
-
Deep knowledge of platform algorithms, digital content formats, and the modern clip economy, alongside working knowledge of AI tools.
-
Strong community management skills with a passion for driving meaningful audience interactions.
-
Excellent communication skills and comfortable being on camera or collaborating closely with on-air talent and stakeholders.
