Sales Representative – Sydney

Time Seafood Australia | Foodservice & Wholesale

Time Seafood Australia is looking for a confident, motivated and commercially minded Sales Representative to help grow our wholesale and foodservice customer network across Sydney.

This is a flexible contractor/freelancer role suited to someone who enjoys building relationships, meeting new businesses and identifying new sales opportunities. Experience and existing relationships within the seafood, hospitality, foodservice or FMCG industries would be highly regarded.

The Role

You will be responsible for developing new sales opportunities across Sydney, introducing Time Seafood products to prospective customers, distributing samples, following up with leads and converting opportunities into active wholesale accounts.

Your responsibilities will include:

Researching target areas and identifying prospective customers
Planning and conducting customer outreach across Sydney
Visiting seafood retailers, sushi businesses, restaurants, butchers, grocers and other foodservice businesses
Introducing the Time Seafood product range and identifying suitable product opportunities
Delivering product samples and discussing potential applications
Following up with prospective customers after sampling
Providing pricing information and coordinating quotations
Converting prospects into new wholesale customers
Building and maintaining relationships with accounts you develop
Identifying repeat sales and upselling opportunities
Providing weekly activity reports and sales pipeline updates
Sharing relevant market insights, customer feedback and competitor activity

Weekly Structure

The role is designed around one dedicated outreach day per week, with additional flexible follow-up throughout the week.

The typical weekly commitment is approximately 10–11 hours, including territory planning and preparation, one dedicated day of customer outreach (6-7 hours), reporting and administration, and ongoing customer follow-up.

You will have flexibility to nominate your dedicated weekly outreach day and independently manage your schedule and customer visits.

What We're Looking For

We'd love to hear from someone who:

Is confident approaching and speaking with new businesses to introduce new products
Has strong communication and relationship-building skills
Is proactive, organised and comfortable working independently
Is confident following up with leads and developing long-term customer relationships
Has experience in sales, foodservice, hospitality, FMCG, seafood or a related industry
Ideally has an existing network within Sydney's seafood, foodservice or hospitality industries
Has a genuine interest in food and can confidently learn and represent our product range
Holds a valid Australian driver's licence, has access to a reliable car and is comfortable travelling across Sydney
Holds or is willing to obtain an ABN

Product knowledge can be taught—we're looking for someone with initiative, confidence and the ability to build strong customer relationships.

Compensation

Weekly retainer + performance-based commission

The compensation structure includes a fixed weekly retainer with additional commission and performance incentives based on new customer acquisition, account development and sales growth.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to play an active role in growing Time Seafood Australia's presence across Sydney.

You'll have the flexibility to manage your own schedule while developing a portfolio of wholesale and foodservice customers, building long-term industry relationships and earning additional commission as the accounts you develop grow.
