Your role:

A career in the Navy engineering offers the opportunity work with advanced technology and complex systems supporting operations at sea and ashore. Across roles in electronics, submarines and ships, you’ll apply technical knowledge, problem solving and leadership skills while contributing to critical Navy operations.

In a Navy engineering role, you’ll receive paid training from day one, gain experience with sophisticated systems, and develop highly sought after technical expertise. Ship Roles:

Electronics Engineer

Tackle highly varied engineering challenges on base and at sea, maintaining radar, sonar, communication and navigation systems, combat management systems and more.

Submariner Roles:

Electronics Engineer Submariner

Lead a team that maintains advanced combat, self-defence, sensor, communications and intelligence systems, working in a challenging yet rewarding environment.

Nuclear Submarine Officer

Lead a team of highly skilled sailors responsible for operating and maintaining advanced nuclear systems. Oversee the deployment of sophisticated weapons systems, refine operational tactics, and ensure the safe navigation of the Navy’s new nuclear-powered submarines.

Salary:

On completion of your initial military training and initial employment training, you’ll enjoy a package starting from $136,012 for surface fleet roles to $138,356-$142,778 for submariners per annum depending on your role.

Eligibility:

For these roles, you must be at least 17 at the time of enlistment, an Australian Citizen, and have completed Year 12 and obtained a high enough entrance rank to qualify entry into the relevant degree program
