Full Job Description

Last Slice is seeking dynamic, creative and career focused individuals to join our the team on full time in several Locations : Midland – WA 6056 , Bunbury - WA 6230 , Dalyellup – WA 6230 and Eaton – WA 6232. These positions provide a great opportunity for a highly experienced and talented candidates looking to develop their skills further. You will ensure tasks assigned are carried out in a timely fashion, to a high standard and within organization philosophy and guidelines.

CHEFS

Main Duties

· Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies

· Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation

· Discussing food preparation issues with Managers, Dietitians and kitchen and waiting staff

· Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures

· Preparing and cooking food

· Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations

· May select and train staff

· May freeze and preserve foods

Qualification

Trade Qualification

Certificate IV in Kitchen Management or equivalence
Extensive experience may be substitute the qualification requirement

Experience

Previous experience: at least 1 year as chef

COOKS

Main Duties

Examining foodstuffs to ensure quality
Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment
Preparing and cooking food
Seasoning food during cooking
Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes
Storing food in temperature controlled facilities
Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements
May plan menus and estimate food requirements
May train other kitchen staff and apprentices

Qualification

Trade Qualification

· Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalence

· Extensive experience may be substitute the qualification requirement

Experience

· Previous experience: at least 1 year as cook

To be successful in these roles you will have:

· A passion for the food and beverage industry and a willingness to succeed in it

· Good interpersonal and communication skills

· Ability to work unsupervised as well as in a team

· Good time management skills and the ability to work under pressure

· Demonstrated ability to be able to multi task
