Sanders and Company, Australia's last traditional manufacturing silversmith, is seeking a Metal Fabricator to join our esteemed team. With over 100 years of producing and restoring gold, silver, and other metalware, we offer a unique opportunity to work in a time-honoured craft and contribute to the preservation of our rich heritage.

About WJ Sanders:

Established in 1911, W.J. Sanders and Company has been at the forefront of the metalware industry in Australia. We specialize in the production and restoration of gold, silver, and other metalware, and our craftsmanship is renowned for its unparalleled quality and attention to detail. As a custodian of traditional manufacturing techniques, we take great pride in preserving the art of antique metal restoration.

Responsibilities:

As a Metal Fabricator, you will play a vital role in our team. Your responsibilities will include:

Interpret technical drawings and measurements
Perform soldering, brazing, TIG and MIG welding
Cut, shape, and form metals (sawing, drilling, bending, forging)
Carry out annealing and metal finishing (polishing, buffing, sanding)
Use appropriate materials and fabrication methods for desired outcomes
Assist with restoration work as required
Support quality control, stock management, and team production

Requirements:

To excel in this role, you should possess the following:

Ability to visualise and craft new projects
Keen eye for detail
Ability to learn and evolve in craftmanship
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
A commitment to preserving traditional craftsmanship and an appreciation for metalwork.
