Compliance and Assurance Coordinator

About the opportunity

The Compliance and Assurance Coordinator supports Footprints' Audit & Assurance Framework through the coordination and oversight of internal assurance activities and external audit requirements. The role is responsible for maintaining audit readiness, coordinating evidence management processes, supporting accreditation activities, and monitoring and analysing compliance against regulatory, contractual and accreditation requirements.

The role has primary responsibility for monitoring and actioning incoming legislative and regulatory compliance alerts, maintaining the organisation's legislative compliance register, interpreting emerging compliance obligations and administering the contract management system to ensure contractual obligations are met and risks are assessed and escalated in a timely manner. Working collaboratively across the organisation, the role provides assurance support and advice, facilitates external audits and accreditation assessments, and assists leaders to understand and demonstrate compliance with organisational and sector standards.

Success in this role requires a detail-orientated and proactive professional with strong organisational skills, a sound understanding of quality and compliance systems, well-developed analytical and professional judgement capabilities, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, integrity and an understanding of community services.

What you will bring:

Demonstrated experience coordinating or supporting internal and external audits, including planning, evidence collection, reporting, analysis and stakeholder advisory support.
requirements within an organisational context.
Experience monitoring regulatory and legislative changes, assessing organisational impact and maintaining compliance registers.
Experience supporting assurance frameworks, audit programs, accreditation processes or governance activities.
Proven ability to identify compliance risks, support corrective actions and monitor implementation, including advising stakeholders on risk mitigation strategies.
Collaborative approach to teamwork, with a capacity to support and guide others in understanding compliance requirements.
Ability to prepare clear briefing notes, compliance summaries and audit reports, including analysis and recommendations for leadership audiences.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and business systems.
Experience using Quality Management system such as IonMy or similar.
Previous experience in a not-for-profit, community services, health, housing, aged care or similar environment.

Requirements:

Current Queensland Class C Driver’s Licence.
NDIS Worker Screening Check or current Yellow Card and Blue Card.
Relevant qualification in compliance, quality, contract management, project administration or a related discipline (desirable).
