About the Role
Waurn Ponds Twinklekids Early Learning Centre is seeking a passionate, reliable and experienced Part-Time Room Leader to join our friendly and supportive team.
This is a great opportunity for an educator who enjoys taking a leadership role within the room, supporting fellow educators and creating a warm, engaging and high-quality learning environment for children.
As a Room Leader, you will work closely with the Centre Director, Educational Leader and your room team to ensure our educational program and daily practices provide positive outcomes for every child.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support educators within your room to provide high-quality education and care.
- Plan, implement and evaluate engaging educational programs based on children's interests, strengths and individual needs.
- Ensure the program aligns with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF).
- Maintain high standards in accordance with the National Quality Framework (NQF) and National Quality Standards.
- Build positive, respectful and professional relationships with children, families and colleagues.
- Support educators with observations, documentation, programming and reflective practice.
- Promote children's agency, inclusion, wellbeing and sense of belonging.
- Maintain a safe, welcoming and well-organised learning environment.
- Ensure appropriate supervision of children at all times.
- Support the Centre Director and Educational Leader in maintaining compliance and continuously improving practices within the service.
- Actively contribute to the centre's Quality Improvement Plan and team meetings.
- Model professional and positive behaviour for other educators.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or an ACECQA-approved equivalent qualification.
- Has previous experience working in an early childhood education and care setting.
- Has Room Leader or leadership experience, or is an experienced educator ready to step into a leadership position.
- Has a sound understanding of the EYLF, VEYLDF, NQF and National Quality Standards.
- Has strong communication, organisational and leadership skills.
- Is confident supporting and mentoring other educators.
- Is passionate about creating meaningful learning experiences for children.
- Is reliable, professional and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Holds a current Working with Children Check.
- Holds current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications, or is willing to obtain them.
