Part-time (Casual) | 30 hours/week | Monday to Friday | 6am start | Liverpool NSW 2170

For over 60 years, City of Liverpool Meals on Wheels has been showing up for older people in our community, not just with a meal, but with care, dignity and connection. For many of our clients, it's the most important part of their day.

We're looking for an Assistant Cook who wants to be part of that.

The role

This is a hands-on, fast-paced kitchen role producing around 400-500 meals a day (chilled, frozen, and texture-modified), for older community members across Liverpool and beyond, including other Meals on Wheels services in the region.

You'll work alongside our Head Chef and a small, dedicated team. The start time is 6am, Monday to Friday. Most days you'll finish around midday, though some days run a little longer depending on what needs to get done. You're still home well before the afternoon rush.

The successful applicant will begin in a casual position at $34.96 per hour, with the opportunity for permanent employment and increased hours based on performance and suitability.

What you'll be doing

· Preparing chilled, frozen and texture-modified meals under the guidance of our Head Chef

· Portioning and packing meals for individual clients and bulk orders to other services

· Keeping a clean, safe kitchen that meets food safety and aged care standards

· Bringing your best to every shift, because the people eating these meals deserve it

What we're looking for

You don't need a long CV. You do need to be physically up for a busy kitchen shift, organised under pressure, and genuinely reliable.

Previous experience in a commercial kitchen is essential, including food preparation and maintaining food safety standard. A Food Safety Supervisor certificate is a bonus. Mostly, we're looking for someone with the right attitude and a real work ethic - someone who understands that what happens in this kitchen matters.

A police check for working with vulnerable persons will be required.
