$120,000 – $150,000 per annum

Overview of Role

Play a central role in shaping financial strategy and business performance.
Lead and mentor a capable finance team and work closely with executive and management.
Join a respected, family-owned logistics business with eastern seaboard focus.

Financial leadership and reporting
Budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
Cashflow and treasury management
Commercial acumen and business support
Business partnering and communication
Strategic planning and execution
Regulatory compliance and audit management
Progressive thinking and continuous improvement
Tender and contract development
Analytical and decision making skills
Stakeholder engagement

Skills & Competencies

Strong leadership, mentoring and team management capabilities.
Excellent budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling skills.
Highly developed commercial acumen and strategic thinking abilities.
Advanced proficiency in financial systems, eg/ Microsoft Excel and ideally Translogix or similar, and business intelligence tools.
Strong technical knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, taxation and regulatory frameworks.
Highly effective communication skills with the ability to engage and influcence stakeholders at all levels.

The Financial Controller holds strategic oversight of the organisation’s financial performance, providing leadership in financial management, reporting, compliance and analysis.

This role ensures the timely preparation of accurate financial information to support operational and strategic decision-making.

The Financial Controller leads a small but efficient accounting team, collaborates closely with all business divisions, and plays a pivotal role in financial strategy development, cashflow management, budgeting, forecasting, and regulatory compliance.

A key focus is on safeguarding the organisation’s financial health while enabling growth and operational excellence.

Licence/Certification

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
CPA or CA certification preferred but not essential.
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in financial management roles, ideally within the freight, logistics, transport or similar industries.
