L'Épi Bakery Group is looking for an experienced and reliable Bookkeeper / Payroll Officer to join our team in Hume, Canberra.

We are an artisan bakery group passionate about quality, craftsmanship and creating products we are proud to serve every day. We're looking for someone who enjoys working with numbers, understands the importance of accuracy and attention to detail, and wants to be part of a supportive and passionate team.

About the role

This is a part-time position, 2–3 days per week, looking after the bookkeeping and payroll for our business.

Your work will include:

Processing weekly payroll, including wages, superannuation and PAYG
Interpreting awards and ensuring correct pay rates and entitlements
Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
Bank and account reconciliations
Preparing and lodging BAS and other ATO obligations
Maintaining accurate financial records and ledgers
Assisting with month-end and end-of-financial-year processes
Liaising with our accountant as required
Maintaining confidentiality and high standards of accuracy

About you

We would love to hear from you if you have professional experience as a Bookkeeper, Payroll Officer or in a similar finance and administration role.

Experience with payroll and award interpretation is particularly important.

Experience in the following areas would also be highly regarded:

Payroll processing and superannuation
BAS preparation and ATO compliance
Accounting software Xero
Bank reconciliations and end-of-month processes
Bookkeeping in a hospitality, retail or high-volume environment
