We're currently seeking an exceptional Operational Analytics Manager to join our team in Sydney and lead the next phase of growth within our Building Optimisation and Analytics function.
The Opportunity
This is far more than a traditional people-management role.
As Operational Analytics Manager, you'll take ownership of a growing team, key customer relationships, and the evolution of our analytics and optimisation services. You'll work directly alongside the Managing Director and Head of Operations to help shape the future structure, capabilities, and service offerings of the business.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop the Building Optimisation team.
- Build team capability through training, toolbox talks, and structured development initiatives.
- Foster a high-performance culture focused on collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Support recruitment, succession planning, skills development, and capacity planning as the team grows.
Client & Service Delivery Management
- Assume ownership of key client relationships and act as senior escalation point for Building Optimisation customers.
- Ensure service delivery excellence and maintain high standards of reporting, communication, and customer outcomes.
- Develop strategic account management plans to strengthen customer partnerships and identify growth opportunities.
- Ensure all client deliverables are completed on time, to scope, and to a high standard.
Operational Excellence
- Manage team scheduling, workflow allocation, and resource planning.
- Take accountability for team performance, delivery outcomes, and quality assurance processes.
- Work closely with the Work Coordinator to ensure projects, work orders, invoicing, and reporting are managed accurately.
- Identify and implement process improvements that support scalability and operational efficiency.
Hands-On Service Delivery Leadership
- Maintain a detailed understanding of client accounts, service obligations, delivery workflows, and operational priorities across the Building Optimisation portfolio.
- Act as a senior delivery resource and provide practical support across Fault Detection & Diagnostics (FDD), Building Optimisation, and Data-Driven Maintenance services when required.
- Provide coverage during annual leave, sick leave, and periods of increased workload to ensure continuity of service and customer satisfaction.
- Step into day-to-day operational delivery where necessary, ensuring client commitments and service level expectations are consistently met.
- Support complex technical investigations, customer escalations, and high-priority deliverables.
- Build team resilience through knowledge sharing, cross-training, documented procedures, and succession planning to reduce key-person dependencies.
Innovation & Business Growth
- Contribute operational expertise to the ongoing development of VerdeOS technology platforms and software products.
- Support sales initiatives through technical input, tender submissions, pricing reviews, and solution development.
- Help shape the future direction of the Building Optimisation function as VerdeOS continues to expand.
- Identify opportunities to enhance service delivery through technology, automation, analytics, and innovation.
About You
You're a technically capable leader who combines strong building optimisation expertise with a passion for developing people and improving outcomes.
You'll be comfortable operating at both a strategic and operational level—supporting day-to-day delivery while helping shape the future growth of the business.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree or tertiary qualification in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Mechanical, Building Services, Energy, or related engineering background.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in:
- Fault Detection & Diagnostics (FDD)
- Building Optimisation
- Data-Driven Maintenance
- Building Performance Analytics
- Strong understanding of service delivery within building operations and optimisation environments.
- Ability to translate technical concepts into meaningful business outcomes for clients.
- Experience managing stakeholder relationships and balancing competing priorities.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Highly Desirable
- Previous Team Leader or Management experience.
- Operational Technology (OT) data integration and networking experience.
- Hands-on FDD software expertise.
- BMCS/BMS programming experience.
- Experience scaling teams, processes, or service delivery functions.
