ABOUT NECTAR HONEY
Nectar Honey is a growing Western Australian business producing and packing premium honey products for online, wholesale, contract-packing and export customers.
As our business grows, we are looking for a practical and highly organised Operations & Production Coordinator to strengthen our systems, improve production efficiency and help coordinate our day-to-day operation.
This is a hands-on operational leadership role with a genuine pathway to Operations Manager as the business grows.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Working closely with the Director initially, you will help keep people, stock, production and orders moving efficiently across the business.
You will coordinate routine day-to-day operations, improve systems and provide clear direction to our small warehouse and packing team. You will also take responsibility for keeping operations running when the Director is away.
This is not a desk-only position. It combines planning, analysis and administration with practical involvement in the day-to-day operation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate daily production, packing, order fulfilment and dispatch priorities.
- Plan workflow, allocate work and help maintain team accountability.
- Assist with staff rostering and respond to changes in workload or staffing.
- Monitor inventory and identify purchasing and replenishment requirements.
- Support stock forecasting, production planning and purchasing decisions.
- Develop and improve practical systems, procedures and performance reporting.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy, quality control, food safety and record keeping.
- Coordinate suppliers, operational documentation and invoicing support where required.
- Support contract-packing, export and operational improvement projects.
- Make routine operational decisions within agreed parameters.
- Identify operational risks early and provide well-considered recommendations on larger purchasing, staffing and strategic decisions.
ABOUT YOU
You are likely to be someone who naturally brings structure and organisation to a busy environment. You enjoy improving systems, planning ahead and ensuring work is followed through properly.
You will have:
- Experience coordinating operations, workflow or a small team in a relevant environment.
- Strong organisational, prioritisation and time-management skills.
- Experience providing clear direction and maintaining accountability within a team.
- A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to contribute across the operation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and confidence making sensible day-to-day decisions.
- Good numerical and analytical capability, including confidence with spreadsheets and operational information.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy, quality and food safety.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with staff, suppliers and management.
- Reliability, initiative and a genuine sense of ownership over your work.
- A current Australian driver’s licence.
Experience in food manufacturing, FMCG, production, warehousing, logistics, dispatch, retail operations or another quality-controlled environment will be highly regarded, but direct food-industry experience is not essential.
A qualification in operations, supply chain, logistics, business, food science or a related discipline would be advantageous but is not required.
SALARY AND HOURS
This is a permanent part-time position working 27.5 hours per week.
Our preferred schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:30 am–2:00 pm. Flexibility of hours, including a four-day week or nine-day fortnight may be considered for the right candidate.
The full-time equivalent salary is $72,000–$78,000 plus superannuation, depending on experience. Paid pro rata, this equates to approximately $52,100–$56,450 per annum plus superannuation.
The role will also be eligible for a performance-based incentive, subject to agreed performance measures.
