About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Products Lead Electrical Engineer to provide technical leadership and oversight across Electrical Products, Engineering QA and Compliance activities within the NEPEAN Power Products business. This role will ensure our products meet performance, safety and compliance standards while aligning with business objectives and client expectations.
This is a senior hands-on leadership role suited to an accomplished electrical engineer who can guide technical teams, manage key client and supplier relationships, drive standardisation, and support innovation across electrical product engineering.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and review the estimation and quoting of complex electrical systems, including power distribution, control systems and instrumentation.

Provide technical guidance to engineers, designers and drafters throughout project lifecycles.

Develop, implement and maintain engineering design standards, specifications and best practices.

Ensure electrical designs comply with relevant Australian and international standards, including AS/NZS, IEC and IEEE requirements.

Manage and oversee electrical products engineering deliverables to achieve on-time, on-budget and high-quality outcomes.

Conduct design reviews, risk assessments and technical audits to validate compliance and performance.

Coordinate design interfaces across mechanical, civil and control systems disciplines.

Support suppliers and clients with technical input, estimates and resource planning.

Drive innovation in electrical design, energy efficiency, automation and digital engineering practices.

Mentor junior and senior engineers, fostering a high-performing engineering culture.

Contribute to HAZOP, HAZID and functional safety reviews as required.

Promote a strong culture of safety, quality and engineering excellence.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will be a confident technical leader with extensive electrical design and project delivery experience. You will bring strong engineering judgement, excellent stakeholder management skills and a genuine commitment to mentoring teams and delivering safe, compliant and high-quality outcomes.

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. (Essential)

Chartered Professional Engineer status or eligibility (Preferred).

Registered Professional Engineer status, such as RPEQ or equivalent, will be (Highly regarded) -highly regarded.

Minimum 10–15 years’ experience in electrical design and project delivery, including senior or lead engineering roles.

Experience across heavy industry, mining, energy, utilities or infrastructure environments preferred.
- Working knowledge of electrical power systems, control systems and protection schemes.

Experience managing engineering deliverables and mentoring technical teams.

Proficiency with electrical design software such as AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, ETAP or PowerFactory.

Excellent problem-solving, analytical and technical report writing skills.

Ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and manage competing priorities.
