Warehouse Operator / Trainee Machine Operator – Stainless Steel

Full-time — Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm — Pay based on experience

Most warehouse jobs are pick and pack. This one isn’t.

You’ll handle industrial and Reinforcing stainless steel — operating forklifts, overhead cranes, CNC bandsaws and Rebar processing machinery. We’ll train you to do it properly, and there’s a clear path to grow from there.

About the role

This is a hands-on warehouse position in our stainless steel distribution operation. You’ll be involved in the day-to-day handling, preparation and despatch of steel bar — working with real industrial equipment in a specialised environment. The work requires care, accuracy and a genuine focus on safety.

Your duties will include:

Receiving, checking and inspecting incoming stainless steel materials
Picking and preparing customer orders to spec
Packing, labelling and preparing materials for despatch
Loading and unloading trucks
Operating forklifts, overhead cranes and warehouse equipment
Assisting with stock control and inventory checks
Keeping the warehouse clean, organised and safe
Learning to operate saws and other specialised equipment as your skills develop

How you’ll progress

This isn't a dead-end role. There's a clear skills ladder, and progression comes as your skills and confidence grow:

General warehouse → Overhead crane → Forklift operation → Saw operation → Reinforcing machine operation

Full training is provided at every stage. You don’t need to arrive knowing everything — you need to arrive willing to learn.

About you

We’re not looking for someone who’s done it all before — we’re looking for someone reliable, practical and genuinely interested in building a long-term career in a specialised industry.

You’ll be a good fit if you:

Show up on time and take your work seriously
Are careful and accurate with measurements, labels and paperwork
Follow safety procedures and don’t cut corners
Are comfortable in a hands-on warehouse or industrial environment
Want to grow your skills over time and take on more responsibility
Work well as part of a small, close-knit team

A forklift licence is a bonus, but not required. Previous experience in warehousing, logistics, manufacturing, steel, timber, machinery or trades is an advantage — but we’re genuinely open to training the right person from scratch.
