About the Simpson Barracks
Simpson Barracks is located at Yallambie (approx. 40 mins North-East of Melbourne CBD). Predominately a Forces Command training base supporting Defence Force School of Signals (tri-service technicians & operators, electronic warfare systems), Defence Force School of Music (tri-service musicians) and Army Education Centre. The Army base services approximately 6000 Defence members and operates a 9 bed low dependency ward 24/7. The health centre also provides primary medical, nursing, physiotherapy, dental and mental health services. Standard operating hours are generally 07:30 – 15:30 Monday – Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend and on-call shifts).
What you’ll do

Deliver high quality primary healthcare, including health assessments and vaccinations or monitor and manage patients in a low dependency ward setting

Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including general practitioners, physios, mental health clinicians, and dental professionals

Support Defence members through injury recovery, chronic condition management, and preventative care
What you bring
-
Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
-
Minimum one year Registered Nurse experience in acute care, primary health care or military setting

Current CPR certification (HLTAID009)

Australian Citizenship required (Baseline Security Clearance)

Commitment to CPD and ethical, patient centred care

Ability to work a 24/7 roster
- This role is primarily Monday to Sunday (AM, PM and Night Shift) within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
