An Assistant Business Manager role will usually undertake tasks that support the effective administration of a specific function or area within the school, such as finance, human resources, or general administration. The role seeks to work cooperatively with other staff members and members of the school community to achieve daily operational objectives.
Direction on tasks and priorities is provided by the Business Manager or senior management. Work is generally carried out in accordance with established procedures and school policy, and any deviation from these will require guidance and approval from the Business Manager or senior management.
The role may provide guidance to other administrative or support staff on routine tasks but does not carry primary responsibility for staff management. Day to day issues within the role's area of responsibility are resolved independently where possible, with more complex matters referred to the Business Manager. The role provides timely and accurate information, records, and support to the Business Manager and senior management in matters relating to school finance, human resources, or administration.

Manage the design and production of school publications and documents

Manage and direct the preparation of annual budgets and regular financial statements and contribute to the financial decision making of the school.
- Prepare funding submissions for the leadership team and school council.
- Direct the accounting processes of the school and ensure that all funds, including school investments, are effectively accounted for according to Treasury regulations.
- Provide advice to staff on spending against budget in respect to faculties, programs and other school projects.
- Administer government grants and other school income.
- Manage fund raising activities.
General Administration

Ensure the provision of a range of administrative support functions for the Principal and teaching staff.
- Provide administrative support to external service providers as required.
- Manage the processing of student admissions, registrations, enrolments and transfers.
- Provide required level of administrative support for school events, functions and projects.
- Implement induction programs for new staff, volunteers and other workers to the school.
Human Resources
