The Recipe for Success: Role Summary

Our Commercial Director will be responsible for driving the organisation's commercial strategy across both Retail and Third-Party Retail channels to maximise revenue, margin, and market share. This role ensures that both business units operate in alignment with the company's broader strategic objectives, while delivering sustainable growth and a consistent brand experience.

Ingredients: Key Responsibilities

Develop and own the commercial strategy for Retail and Third-Party Retailers channels, ensuring alignment with overall corporate objectives.
Identify market opportunities, emerging trends, and risks to drive long-term sustainable growth.
Lead annual commercial planning, including budgeting, forecasting, and multi-year growth roadmaps.
Shape channel strategies that balance revenue growth, profitability, and brand equity.
Oversee the performance of the Retail network, ensuring delivery of sales, margin, and operational KPIs.
Lead initiatives to improve store productivity, customer experience, conversion, and average transaction value.
Oversee relationships with key majors and personally manage the David Jones account.
Drive joint business planning, including category growth initiatives, distribution planning, and promotional calendars with the National Key Account Managers.
Set commercial targets and KPIs for Retail and Wholesale teams, ensuring robust performance monitoring and reporting.
Lead, coach, and develop Retail and Wholesale leadership teams to drive high performance and accountability.

The Perfect Blend:
What We’re Looking For

A relevant degree and/or professional qualification in Sales, Marketing, Economics or Business Administration.
Proven experience in a senior Sales or Commercial leadership role, ideally within the retail industry.

Excellent relationship building and management skills based on in-depth knowledge and past commercial experience.
The ability to develop and enact short, medium and long-term business growth strategies.
The ability to build and lead effective cross-functional teams.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to prepare proposals, present ideas and convince others.
Experience of successfully leading and managing change, translating organisational ambitions into real and measurable achievements.
Strong commercial acumen and a tough negotiator who can identify commercial opportunities and realise their potential.
Ability to plan strategically, build consensus and project the Company's vision.
Ability to provide visible and supportive leadership and foster a positive work environment through empowering, enabling, motivating and developing others.
