Performance Marketer (Paid Search & SEO)

Location: Hybrid/On-site
Department: Marketing
Reports to: Marketing Manager

About the Role

We're looking for a Performance Marketer to own and grow our search marketing program, covering both paid and organic. You'll be the go-to expert for Google Ads, ChatGPT Ads, while also driving our SEO strategy to improve organic visibility and rankings. This is a hands-on role covering both disciplines. You'll be in the ad platforms daily optimising spend, and also working on-site and technical SEO to build long-term organic growth. You'll make sure paid and organic search efforts work together, not against each other (for example, not spending on ads for keywords you already rank highly for organically).

What You'll Do

Paid Search

Own end-to-end strategy and execution for paid search campaigns across Google Ads and Chat GPT Ads
Manage a significant monthly ad spend, ensuring budget is allocated toward the highest-performing campaigns
Build, launch, and optimise campaigns, including keyword strategy, ad copy, bidding strategy, and audience targeting
Set up and monitor conversion tracking to make sure spend is tied to real business results (leads, sales, sign-ups)
Run structured tests (A/B tests) on ad copy, landing pages, and bidding approaches to continuously improve performance

SEO

Own organic search strategy, including keyword research, on-page optimisation, and site content recommendations
Conduct technical SEO audits (site speed, crawlability, indexing issues) and work with web and dev teams to fix issues
Build and manage link-building or digital PR initiatives to grow domain authority
Monitor organic rankings, traffic, and visibility using tools like Google Search Console, Ahrefs, or SEMrush
Coordinate keyword strategy across paid and organic so the two channels complement rather than compete

Shared and Cross-Channel

Report on key metrics (cost per acquisition, return on ad spend, organic traffic growth, conversion rate) to leadership on a regular basis
Partner with content, design, and web teams to improve landing pages and creative assets
Stay current on Google Ads, ChatGPT Ads, and SEO best practices and algorithm updates
Mentor junior marketers or manage specialists and agencies as the program scales

What We're Looking For

5+ years of hands-on experience across paid search and SEO, with a proven track record of hitting performance targets
Solid SEO experience, including technical SEO, on-page optimisation, and keyword research
Familiarity with SEO tools (such as Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush) and analytics tools (such as Google Analytics)
Comfortable working with budgets and explaining performance in terms of business impact, not just marketing jargon
Analytical mindset, comfortable digging into data in spreadsheets or dashboards to find insights
Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex campaign decisions to non-marketing stakeholders
Experience mentoring or leading other marketers is a plus

Pay: $75,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year
