This role is a Senior Executive Band One, offers a total remuneration package starting at $239,251 to $264,197, including superannuation, commensurate with experience.

Temporary role up to January 2027, with the potential to become ongoing.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Director, Communications to lead strategic communications and government services that support Infrastructure NSW’s priorities and objectives. The role provides leadership across corporate affairs, industry engagement and events, Cabinet, ministerial and parliamentary services, and internal and external communications.

Support the Coordinator General function and the Construction Leadership Group.

Build and strengthen relationships with government, industry and stakeholders.

Drive innovative communication strategies that enhance collaboration, influence and outcomes.

Some of the key responsibilities for the role include:

Lead the Communications team to deliver strategic communications, campaigns and initiatives that promote Infrastructure NSW’s priorities, activities and objectives.

Provide strategic communications advice to senior leaders on emerging, sensitive and high-profile issues to support effective stakeholder engagement and issue management.

Build and maintain strong relationships with media and key communication channels to support accurate and positive representation of the agency.

Provide expert communications advice to the CEO, Executive Director Corporate Services, Ministers’ offices and senior stakeholders on policy, performance and reputational matters.

About You

You will bring tertiary qualifications in communications, media, public relations, journalism, or a related discipline, together with substantial and varied senior-level experience.

You have a proven track record leading communications functions within government, backed by a strong understanding of the political, policy and media landscape.

You are a strategic leader who can navigate complex stakeholder environments, provide trusted advice, and drive communications outcomes that support Infrastructure NSW’s priorities and reputation.
