We are seeking an experienced and proactive WHS Coordinator to lead workplace health, safety, and environmental (HSE) initiatives at our Melbourne Regional Distribution Centre (RDC).
This is a hands-on role that combines operational safety leadership with strategic improvement initiatives. You will work closely with leaders and employees to foster a strong safety culture, ensure compliance with WHS legislation, and drive continuous improvement across the site.
About the Opportunity
As the OHS Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of site safety programs. You will play a critical role in identifying and reducing workplace risk, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting injury management processes, and helping create an environment where safety is everyone's responsibility.
Key Responsibilities

Lead investigations into workplace incidents, near misses, and hazards, identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective actions.

Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, regulations, and company safety policies and procedures.

Conduct safety audits, workplace inspections, risk assessments, and hazard identification activities.

Monitor and report on safety performance, incidents, corrective actions, and compliance requirements.

Coordinate and deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness initiatives.

Partner with leaders and employees to strengthen safety culture and promote safe work practices.

Support workers compensation and injury management processes.

Maintain accurate safety records, reports, and documentation.

Participate in safety committees and act as a key advisor on workplace health and safety matters.

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies where required.
What We're Looking For
Desirable Experience

Experience in a WHS, OHS, or Safety Coordinator role within a warehouse, logistics, distribution centre, manufacturing, or industrial environment.

Demonstrated experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analysis.

Experience leading or supporting risk assessments, audits, and compliance activities.

Experience delivering safety training and influencing safe workplace behaviours.

Experience working with workplace safety legislation and regulatory requirements.
