About the role
At Tyro, we're building the future of payments for Australian businesses. As a Senior Product Manager in our Online Payments team, you'll help shape products that make it easier for merchants to sell, grow and succeed—whether they're operating entirely online, in-store, or across both.
This is an opportunity to own a meaningful product area with significant growth potential, working alongside experienced product leaders, engineers and designers to solve complex customer problems. You'll combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, using customer insight, data and emerging technologies like AI to create products that deliver real value.
What you'll do
Shape Product Strategy: Define and execute the roadmap for a key product area, balancing customer needs, commercial opportunities and technical feasibility.
Lead Discovery: Validate opportunities through customer research, market insights, competitor analysis and data, turning problems into clear product priorities.
Partner with Engineering: Work closely with engineering and design to define requirements, refine user stories and deliver high-quality products at pace.
Build API-First Products: Help shape developer-friendly payment experiences, with a strong focus on APIs, integrations and scalable platform capabilities.
Use Data to Drive Decisions: Measure product performance, identify opportunities through analytics and experimentation, and use insights to guide roadmap decisions.
Embed AI & Automation: Identify practical ways to leverage AI within the product and introduce automation that improves customer experiences and reduces manual effort across the business.
Drive Commercial Outcomes: Partner with sales, operations and go-to-market teams to support launches, enable growth opportunities and help bring new capabilities to market.
Influence & Deliver: Build alignment across technical and non-technical stakeholders, navigate competing priorities and keep delivery moving from concept through to launch.
What you'll bring
Product Experience: 4+ years' experience managing digital products within fintech, payments, banking or another regulated environment.
API Experience: Experience building or managing API-first products, with a solid understanding of how developers integrate with platforms.
Technical Curiosity: A background in software engineering, or a genuine interest in technology demonstrated through your work or personal projects, is highly regarded.
AI in Practice: You've used AI to improve the way products are built or delivered, or introduced automation that has reduced manual effort and improved outcomes.
Customer Focus: Experience translating customer insights into products that solve real problems.
Communication: You can explain technical concepts clearly and build alignment across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Collaboration: You enjoy working closely with engineering and design and know how to balance customer, technical and commercial priorities.
Product Craft: Strong experience writing product requirements, defining success metrics and delivering products through agile teams.
