You’re a determined leader who stays true to your purpose and enjoys overcoming setbacks or obstacles.
If finding complex solutions is your game, we've got the team for you. You're going to help us create seamless operations that result in efficiency for millions of customers.
In this role, you'll:
Play a critical role in ensuring the safe, reliable and high-performing operation of the Sydney Metro North West and Bankstown Line, by leading the management and resolution of residual asset issues within the Southwest Corridor. Working across a diverse portfolio of inherited aged assets, you'll resolve matters spanning track, overhead wiring, civil and structural infrastructure, balancing risk, performance and cost to achieve value for money along with the best operational and customer outcomes.
No two days will be the same. You'll work closely with operators, contractors, delivery partners and internal stakeholders to assess, prioritise and drive the resolution of complex asset issues, navigating live operational environment constraints, whilst maintaining a strong focus on safety and performance. Your ability to bring people together, remove barriers and build consensus will be key as you lead multiple workstreams and influence outcomes across a broad stakeholder landscape.
This role offers a unique blend of operational, technical and commercial responsibility. You'll review operational performance and engineering information, make informed decisions and deliver solutions on asset-related matters and provide clear reporting on risks, progress and priorities to senior leaders and executive stakeholders. With exposure to a wide range of engineering disciplines and operational challenges, you'll have the opportunity to shape both immediate solutions and longer-term asset management strategies that support the continued success of one of Australia's most significant transport networks.
This is a fixed term full time role until 30th January 2029.

You have experience leading teams, managing contractors in an operational environment and working across multidisciplinary environments were competing priorities, changing demands and high levels of accountability are the norm. You are comfortable reviewing technical information and navigating contractual and commercial considerations, you're able to exercise sound judgement, make informed decisions and maintain momentum in delivering outcomes.
Most importantly, you are a collaborative and proactive leader who builds trusted relationships, communicates effectively at all levels and takes ownership of challenges. You're motivated by the opportunity to make a tangible impact on the performance, reliability and long-term sustainability of critical infrastructure, while developing your capability across operational leadership, asset management, commercial management and executive engagement.
