Applicants must be currently enrolled in a university degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Energy Engineering, Power Systems, Electric Vehicles or a related field.
This casual / part-time role is designed for students who want to gain hands-on experience in the renewable energy industry while completing their university studies.

Aussie Hybrid Solar (AHS) is the market-facing solar and battery installation service brand operated by JT Solar Technology, a Sydney-based renewable energy technology company established in 2009.
AHS delivers solar system installation, battery storage, smart energy applications, system design, commissioning and after-sales support across residential, strata, apartment, commercial and industrial projects.
We are currently looking for a Student Energy Engineering Assistant to support solar, battery storage, EV charging and smart energy project work.
About the Role
This casual, part-time position is designed for current university students who are interested in AI, data, automation, software development, AWS, cloud infrastructure, system operations and applied technology.
You will gain practical experience by supporting technology-related work connected with clean energy operations, internal systems, project data and workflow improvement.
The role is suitable for students looking to develop real-world experience alongside their university studies.
Key Responsibilities
- Research AI-related applications, tools and practical business use cases
- Support data organisation, system documentation and workflow optimisation
- Assist with internal automation tools and digital system improvements
- Support AWS/Oracle cloud services, deployment, configuration and basic monitoring
- Assist with cloud migration, data management and platform integration tasks
- Help troubleshoot system, data or workflow issues with the technical team
- Support smart energy, solar and battery project documentation
- Explore how AI and cloud technologies can improve real-world energy operations
- Assist with testing, documenting and maintaining internal digital processes
Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for this position, applicants must:
Be a current university student actively enrolled in a recognised degree program
Be available to work on a casual or part-time basis while completing their studies
Be studying AI, Data Science, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Cloud Computing or another relevant field
This position is not intended for applicants who have already graduated or who are not currently enrolled at a university.
Who We Are Looking For
A current university student with an interest in renewable energy, smart energy systems, AI applications or digital operations
Basic knowledge of Python, databases, APIs, cybersecurity, AWS/Oracle cloud, Terraform, or general cloud concepts is preferred.
Organised, detail-oriented and willing to learn
Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Good communication, research and problem-solving skills
Responsible and able to manage university and work commitments effectively
Interested in applying academic knowledge to real operational projects.
