About the role
This is an exciting entry point into the world of cyber security, offering hands-on exposure across cyber incident response, threat hunting, threat intelligence and security monitoring. Working as part of our Cyber Incident Response team, you'll help support BOQ Group's capability to detect, respond to and recover from cyber threats while learning from experienced specialists across the business.
You'll be immersed in an environment where no two days are the same. From monitoring security events and contributing to threat hunting activities through to supporting incident response and learning how cyber intelligence is gathered and analysed, you'll gain exposure to a broad range of cyber disciplines that will accelerate your development.
This role has been designed as a learning opportunity for someone who is eager to grow. You'll receive mentoring from experienced team members and work closely with specialists across cyber security, technology operations and engineering teams. Along the way, you'll develop practical experience responding to security incidents, understanding emerging threats and contributing to the protection of critical systems and information assets.
What makes this opportunity particularly exciting is the exposure you'll receive across the full cyber security lifecycle. Rather than being confined to one specialised area, you'll have the opportunity to build foundational skills across incident response, threat management, intelligence and security operations while helping protect an organisation that supports millions of customer interactions every year.
About you
You're naturally curious and love understanding how things work. Whether you've recently completed studies in cyber security, technology or a related field, or you've developed a passion for cyber through certifications, projects or practical experience, you're keen to keep learning and continuously build your skills.
You enjoy solving problems, asking questions and working collaboratively with others. You're comfortable navigating new technologies and concepts and are excited by the challenge of understanding how cyber threats evolve and how organisations can better protect themselves against them.
You'll bring a foundational understanding of cyber security concepts, together with an interest in areas such as threat intelligence, incident response, security monitoring, networking, cloud security or threat hunting. Most importantly, you'll have a growth mindset and a genuine eagerness to learn from experienced professionals who are passionate about developing the next generation of cyber talent.
At BOQ Group, attitude and potential matter just as much as experience. We're looking for someone who is collaborative, adaptable and motivated to make a positive contribution while building a meaningful career in cyber security.
Joining BOQ Group means joining a purpose-driven organisation where your work helps protect customers, communities and the broader financial system.
You'll have the opportunity to learn from industry experts, gain exposure to modern cyber security practices and grow your career in a supportive environment that encourages curiosity, innovation and continuous improvement. Because we're small enough to care and large enough to make a difference, you'll have the chance to see the real impact of your work while being supported every step of the way.
